RBC Wrestling advanced three wrestlers (pictured right to left junior Aidan Meyler-McAuliffe, seniors John Columbia and Steven Cmielewiski) to the quarter finals of the Region 6 Championships. Cmielewski's top 3 finish has earned him a trip to the State Championship Tournament Atlantic City.

Steven is currently 39-3, which gives him the RBC record for wins in a season. This marks a comeback story from year ago when Steven missed the entire football season and the majority of the wrestling season after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his ankle. He made it back just in time for the postseason ( two months ahead of schedule ) and still managed to reach the podium in the Region Championships, falling just two spots shy of the State Tournament. His hard work and commitment to himself to return to Atlantic City has paid off. He clinched his spot when he defeated Obifunna Ezeigbo from Ewing High School 6-4 in "sudden victory" overtime.

Senior 195 pound wrestler John Columbia, reached the quarter finals with a major decision over Paul Franceschini of point Pleasant Borough, 9-1 before losing a very tight match to the number 1 seed and region champion Jacob Anderson, 2-0. John finishes the season with a record of 25-8.

Junior Aidan Meyler-McAuliffe reached the podium with 6th place finish at 160. Aidan finished the season with 26 wins and 11 losses and will look to use this season's success as an incentive for a great team effort next year.

Over 320 wrestlers per weight class took the first step two weeks ago when the District tournaments began. Only 32 remain with a chance to stand atop the podium. It takes tremendous skill and toughness to reach this point. We wish all the participants the best, congratulations and good luck.
