On Wednesday, two Red Bank Catholic student athletes signed contracts to play football at the college level. Congrats to senior Charlie Gordinier (LB) who signed with Boston College and senior Kevin Bauman (TE) who signed with the University of Notre Dame. These student athletes dedicated a lot of time both in the classroom and to their sport to receive this terrific opportunity to play at the next level.

LB – Charlie Gordinier, Sr., Red Bank Catholic

A steadying presence and the leader of one of the Shore Conference’s best defenses, Gordinier made a team-high 89 tackles with 11 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 pass breakups. RBC allowed just 12.9 points per game with one shutout and held five of its nine opponents to 10 points or less. Gordinier was also a standout tight end and his two-way efforts helped the Caseys finish No. 7 in the SSN Top 10. Gordinier will continue his career at Boston College.

TE – Kevin Bauman, Sr., Red Bank Catholic

One of the top tight end recruits in the country, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound Bauman caught 15 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns and was a dominant run blocker for the Caseys. He also had an outstanding year at defensive end with 11.5 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 64 total tackles, 3 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles for a defense that allowed just 12.9 points per game. A three-time First Team All-Shore selection, Bauman will take his talents to the big stage next year at the University of Notre Dame.
