After a history-making 2016-17 season, Red Bank Catholic is business as usual, as it competes for a fourth straight state title this year.

Winning the highly competitive Shore Conference Championship and breaking the meet record for a second-straight year to earn its fourth consecutive and 12th overall title last season, RBC also went on to earn the Central Jersey, Section 1 title.

To culminate its stellar season, RBC made history by winning the NJSIAA State Team Championship, surpassing Bishop Ahr for the most state titles to earn its third straight state title and 11th overall.

Although the team has lost a few top contributors from last season to graduation in Sierra Garcia and Cassie Riley, along with Nicolette DiPrisco who will not be returning this season, Red Bank Catholic has put in a lot of hard work in the off season to come back just as strong.

“The girls are extremely motivated,” Red Bank Catholic head coach Ronanne DeRosa said. “They have been talking about it since last November when the season ended, and we know we have a lot of work ahead of us if we want to go for the 4-peat at states this year.”

Red Bank Catholic will rely heavily on its team veterans this season, which includes seniors Alex Cucich and Nicole DiLeva, and sophomore Lily Raymond.

“Ally is a great athlete and an amazing teammate,” DeRosa said. “She has gotten better every year and her drive and commitment will have her best year yet”.

“Nicole and Lily are both strong on vault, beam, and floor. Bars always seems to be the event we need to push harder on, and they will both need to step up on bars as the season progresses.” DeRosa said.

Other team contributors for RBC this season will include freshmen Mackenzie Haar and Cristina DiLeva.
