Red Bank Catholic's Katie Rice scored 13 points, including a crucial late three-pointer, as the Caseys held off Conrad 42-39 to win their bracket at the 2017 Diamond State Classic.

The New Jersey squad went toe-to-toe with one of Delaware's top teams, and were able to find the difference with the aid of five three-pointers in the game.

The final one proved the most critical, as Conrad was in the process of chopping into a four-point deficit going into the final stanza.

Julie Kulesza cut the Caseys' lead to one when she drove to the basket, hitting a shot int he point to make the score 38-37 with 3:00 left.

On Red Bank Catholic's ensuing possession, Rose Caverly shipped a pass over to Rice, who connected on a three-pointer on the right baseline to stretch the lead back to four points.

Kulesza hit a shot in the paint with just over a minute to go to bring the game back to two, and the teams traded free throws, ultimately giving Conrad a chance to tie or take the lead in the waining seconds.

A three-pointer went strong, and Red Bank Catholic was able to run out the clock after Caverly hit a free throw with 1.6 seconds left.

It was a tight ending to an overall close game, as Red Bank raced ahead 10-2, only to have Conrad respond with a 14-2 run sparked by Julie and Stefanie Kulesza to get back into the ballgame.

Ultimately Red Bank led 22-21 at halftime, and stretched the lead to 35-27 late in the third quarter before Jordan Rook's three-pointer brought Conrad back into the contest, and set up a rally that fell just short.

Rice's 13 points were aided by 12 from Caverly, with Haylie Moore chipping in 7 more points.

Jy'Nyiah Whittlesey led Conrad with 10 points, 8 of which came after halftime.
