The crystal ball determined that the Asbury Park Press was on the mark for the first round of the Shore Conference Tournament.

Boys basketball beat reporter Sherlon Christie got nine of the 11 first round matches correct (81.8 percent) on Tuesday night.

He’s going for perfection for the second round games on Thursday.

So without further ado, here is the forecast for round two of the SCT.

(12) Red Bank Catholic (15-8) at (5) CBA (15-6), 4 p.m.

We have an intriguing rematch featuring the Caseys and the Colts. CBA won 66-57 on Feb. 10 at the Second Annual Founder’s Cup Game. CBA jumped out to a 22-13 lead in the first quarter and held off Red Bank Catholic from that point on. The Colts had three players in double figures (Josh Cohen – 18 points, Stephen Braunstein – 17 points and Robert Mahala – 14 points) and so did the Caseys (Matt Conley – 14 points, Stephen Lubischer -13 points and Kevin Bauman – 11 points). The bottom line is this, CBA has a better season resume and the Colts have beaten the Caseys four straight times from 2009 to the present and they are at home. THE PICK: CBA 60, Red Bank Catholic 50
