The RBC Indoor Track Team is wrapping their season with some athletes earning a trip to a National Meet in Boston. They competed last weekend at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at the Ocean Breeze Sports Complex in Staten Island, New York where these qualifying times were achieved. Senior Cate DeSousa finished first in the 3200 distance event at the Meet of Champions to capture another state title breaking her own school record in the process.
The performance of the distance medley relay, which includes DeSousa, senior Grace Anderson, junior Avery Hargis and sophomore Ava Bataglio, qualified them for the National Meet, which will be held this weekend at the New Balance Track in Boston.
The girls will be joined by RBC junior Patrick Coyle, who will be running the 1600 meters. He ran a personal best of 4:14 at the Meet of Championsalso qualified with a 4th place finish in the 1600 meters achieving a personal best time of 4:16.
Also, sophomore Kennedy Miller will be representing RBC at the Nike Championships in NY in the shot put.
