Congratulations to RBC senior Cate DeSousa for representing Red Bank Catholic in being named the NJSIAA Scholar Athlete for the 2022-2023 school year. Cate is a member of the RBC cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams.
As an athlete, Cate has received multiple honors for All Shore recognition, most recently earning Co-Athlete of the Year for the Shore Conference indoor track season. She also received multiple first team All State honors for track and cross country. Throughout her time at RBC, she has earned 9 individual state titles across all three sports, as well as 2 team titles. This past March she was the 3200m (two mile) Meet of Champions/All-Group championship, running 10:16 (3rd fastest time in 3200m state history).
At RBC, Cate is an active member of Caseys for a Cure, Signpost, Academic Team, Casey Ambassadors, and National Honors Society, has a ranked GPA in the top 5% of the class, and is the student body Vice President. She will be attending the University of Virginia where she will continue her academic and athletic career.
